This recognition means the world to our entire team, and we couldn’t wait to celebrate with all of you. As a production company, we pour our heart and soul into every project we take on, and Science Wise is no exception. From concept development to recording, editing, and post-production, each episode is a labor of love and passion for great work. This nomination is not just a win for the podcast but also a reflection of the hard work and dedication of everyone on our team.

About Science Wise

Emilia Huerta-Sanchez and Rori Rohlfs are two renowned scientists on a mission to make the world of science more welcoming by learning from the experiences of scientists who came before us. Get ready to be inspired as they delve into the personal journeys of scientists who share with them the highs and lows that helped shape their careers. Enjoy motivating discussions filled with invaluable takeaways to guide you on your personal journey. Listening will feel like confiding in your wisest auntie, who just happens to be a badass scientist.

The hosts are two University professors who are dedicated to making the show better with each episode. Emilia Huerta-Sanchez is an Associate Professor of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology at Brown University. Rori Rohlfs is an Associate Professor of Data Science at the University of Oregon.

Creating and Producing Science Wise

Our favorite part about producing podcasts for clients is the discovery process. When Rori and Emilia came to us with the idea for creating their science podcast, we spent days discussing, ideating and brainstorming around who they wanted to reach and why. This discovery helped us develop the show concept, title, and segments into a format that their audience can relate to.

We always work with talented experts, like Tangia Renee Estrada, who contributed in the ideation and concept development of the show. As well as Kyle Davila who helped us bring a vision to life, as the designer behind the beautiful cover art.

That is how a project between two amazing scientists at Brown University and University of Oregon was born.

This particular production process involved a lot of initial research and discussion around goals, target audience, tone and style. Our job as the production company was to create a new podcast that felt like having a chat with your "badass auntie". It might seem strange to read these words in relation to a podcast about science by two people from prestigious institutions of higher learning, but this authenticity helps makes our directive clear: engage with the target audience in the most relatable way possible. From the cover art to the sound design, we are extremely proud of "Science Wise"

But Wait—There’s More!

In addition to being a finalist in the Science category, we’re also up for the Listener’s Choice Award—an award that’s entirely based on your votes! This is where you come in!
