My guest this episode is a fellow passionate creative who immigrated here when she was 18.

Her name is Angie Garcia, and the other day we sat in my kitchen sharing stories of our personal experiences living as immigrants in the United States. And how we’ve both learned that part of being an immigrant and living the "American dream" is learning to adapt to FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS.

If you’re an immigrant like Angie and me, you’ve probably had a similar experience, where one day you realize that things here are not as perfect as they once seemed from afar. Most of us had this rude awakening during the last presidential election, and in this episode, we talk a little bit about that, plus:

  • What it’s like to have to find a new community.

  • Constantly having to explain our immigration status to people.

  • And the reality of white immigrant privilege.
